Which “Avengers: Infinity War” Storyline is Anthony Russo Most Excited For?

Judging from the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, there is a metric-ton to be excited about. There is so much going on in the footage, that it’s hard to pick just one moment that stands out. Well, what about the creators of the film? What’s their favorite part of the movie? It turns out, director Anthony Russo has his pick. Speaking to Comicbook.com, the Avengers: Infinity War co-director reveals that he is on team Thor:

“I’m going to pick Thor because Thor, we’re picking up his story from the end of Thor: Ragnarok and at the end of that film as any fan would know his home planet of Asgard is destroyed, and so the character is in new territory so to speak, because his past has been torn away from him to a degree.”

Anthony also spoke about Thor’s evolution in the movie, stating that: “I think it’s very similar to Captain America’s situation when we picked up his story in Winter Solider when Joe and I came on to do our first movie for Marvel. Cap was in a place where we were very much catching him up in the modern world and seeing what that meant to him, and figuring out how you move a character that far forward and that far away from where they started back during the 40s, so I think in Thor we have similar opportunities with that character in this movie is that he’s going through a radical transformation and he’s moving forward in a way where he can never go back, and that’s always a fun place to be with a character as a storyteller.”

Cobie on Sacrificing Ambition For Family

In an exclusive new interview with SheKnows, Cobie revealed she and husband, Taran Killam, manage their busy schedules and raise their daughters at the same time, but their lives aren’t without challenges.

“We have an amazing support system,” Smulders said of balancing her family with her career. “We have a wonderful nanny when both of us are out of town. We have family that helps us out when we need it and just supports our girls emotionally as well. It’s really about putting the girls first and having to be a bit choosy about work now and doing jobs that you only really want to do so you’re not leaving to feed some sort of ambition in yourself, but you take jobs because you really, really love it and you really have to do it. But always, in every decision I make, my daughters come first, whether that’s a work decision or a life decision, and that’s the same with my husband too. Their also our top priority.”

She credits her daughters for her recent decision to partner with Frito-Lay Variety Packs for the Dreamvention competition, which awards $250,000 to a family with the best idea to solve an everyday problem.

She explained, “I feel that there is something so wonderfully innocent about the way that kids’ brains work. They’re able to come up with ideas that are out of the box and are surprising and yet somewhat effective. And so I’m always amazed with what they come up with and the way they see the world.”

Smulders herself knows what it is to dream as a child. She told us, “As a kid, I always wanted to be successful, I think, but I don’t think I knew what that was. I think because I had a very professional father — my dad was a dentist and had his own practice — I knew my dad was successful, so I was very determined to be a success. I didn’t know what it was. I just had a drive. And it took a while for me to figure out I wanted to do acting, because to me it was just kind of a playtime and not a real job. And it still feels like that. It’s a lot of fun, so I’m very lucky to do it for a living. But when I really decided that it was a dream to be, probably, onstage, to be in theater. There was that. And then I also dreamed I wanted to be a mermaid. So I was able to make one of those things happen and one of those, not so much.”

As for what dreams she has for her daughters, Smulders keeps it beautifully simple, “The No. 1 is happiness. That is key. What I know for sure is that life is short and you shouldn’t spend too much time on something that makes you unhappy. So I hope my daughters, as they get older, do what inspires them, something they’re passionate about.”

Cobie Partners With Innovation Campaign

Cobie Smulders has a big paycheck for one lucky — and innovative! — family.

The How I Met Your Mother actress is partnering up with Frito-Lay for Dreamvention — a contest aiming to encourage families to spend time together and be creative when it comes to solving everyday problems. Smulders tells PEOPLE that science is an important part of her life and she’s excited to create these opportunities for other families.

“We’re asking families to submit an invention that helps day-to-day life become more easy,” Smulders explains. “It’s kind of a great way for families to come together and work on a project together and have some bonding time, and also for kids to get fired up and excited about inventing.”

The actress is especially excited about the venture because she likes fostering a creative problem solving environment in her home life with husband Taran Killam and their two daughters.

“I get really excited when you can bridge technology with day-to-day uses. I like using technology to make my life easier and at home with my kids, I’m constantly getting them to create and try to figure out how things work,” she said.

Families can visit MyDreamvention.com to submit their invention idea that solves an everyday problem for a chance to win $250,000 until February. (Source)
