Actors Fred Savage and Cobie Smulders, and Writer/Director Nicholas Stoller sat down with Film Critic Patrick Stoner to talk about their new project, Friends From College on Netflix. Take a look below.
Cobie Smulders and Keegan-Michael Key really, really, really want to start a family together in Netflix’s forthcoming eight-episode comedy, Friends From College.
In the above exclusive, PG-13-rated clip from the half-hour series, which premieres on July 14, Smulders and Key’s married couple go to desperate lengths to get their hands on a certain fertility drug. Their methods include screaming and yelling, vandalism and, in Key’s case, a brazen sexual overture.
An Ivy League college education guarantees success, right? Maybe.
In Netflix’s new comedy series Friends From College, a group of friends who all attended Harvard together are now approaching their 40s and have enjoyed a wide range of success in both their work life and at home. Their various complex and interwoven relationships with each other will range from romantic entanglements and old friendships that may still be shifting. These adults are no longer who they once were after graduating, and nostalgia is hitting them hard. That means maybe catching up on some experiences that they’ve missed out on.
Cobie is not featured in this trailer, but it is definitely worth checking out anyway.
Friends From College comes from director and writer Nick Stoller and his wife and writing partner Francesca Delbanco, who both attended Harvard University in real life.
The eight-episode series stars Keegan-Michael Key, Cobie Smulders, Annie Parisse, Nat Faxon, Fred Savage and Jae Suh Park.
Netflix has released the first images of Friends From College, its comedy series from Neighbors franchisee Nick Stoller that stars Keegan-Michael Key, Cobie Smulders, Fred Savage, Annie Parisse, Nat Faxon and Jae Suh Park.

The Friends From College cast just got a little bigger. Difficult People star Billy Eichner has joined the highly anticipated Netflix comedy in a recurring capacity, and is set to appear in four of the eight episodes that comprise Season 1.
As previously reported by Deadline, the series — which stars Fred Savage (The Grinder), Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother) and Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele) — follows Ethan and Lisa Turner, marrieds who move back to New York City and are reunited with college pal Max Adler. Eichner will play Dr. Felix Forzenheim, Ethan and Lisa’s fertility doctor who later becomes romantically involved with Max.
Netflix has found its preliminary cast for Nick Stoller’s upcoming half-hour comedy series Friends From College, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Stoller, who knows a thing or two about engineering bankable frat comedies following both Neighbors and its sequel Sorority Rising, initially hatched the eight-episode ensemble piece alongside wife and producing partner Francesca Delbanco, and it didn’t take long before Netflix began circling.
Now, Friends From College has founds its preliminary cast in Keanu star Keegan-Michael Key, Cobie Smulders – returning to serialized content following her long run on beloved sitcom How I Met Your Mother – Annie Parisse (Vinyl), Nat Faxon (Married), Fred Savage (The Grinder) and Jae Suh Park (The Mindy Project).
A reunion comedy at its core, Stoller and Delbanco’s new venture revolves around a group of Harvard graduates. Now teetering on the edge of their 40s, college is but a distant memory for Netflix’s Friends From College, as they stare down the mouth of adult life, not to mention the “interwoven and oftentimes complicated relationships with each other, the series is a comedic exploration of old friendships, former romantic entanglements and balancing adult life with nostalgia for the past.”
New York will play host to Netflix’s Friends From College when production kicks off in the fall. No word yet on a release date, but we’ll be keeping track of this one as it develops. (Source)
